Elliptical 1100 - Preview

After considering a lot of reviews I decided to get the Elliptical 1100 as my wife was telling me I needed to loose weight. It seemed to be the best value for money from what I read but how did it perform in practice?

Cheaper elliptical trainers are to be avoided. They can often feel as if they are about to fall apart at any minute but when you have not got a lot of money to spend, sometimes you have to trust other customer reviews and hope for the best.

Usually I exercise outside, running or walking, but when it is February and cold, damp and dark, it is hard to get the motivation up. Plus as someone who is a little more mature in their age I have been finding that my back and joints have begun to suffer. With friends who used to run regularly that are now experiencing tendinitis, shin splints, arthritis, and hip replacements I wanted something that was pain and stress free!

The Elliptical 1100 takes less than thirty minutes to assemble and is quite simple to do. Even though it is quite a heavy piece of equipment its wheels make it easy to move. Plus it was not very bulky so it meant it could be pushed into a corner easily when not in use.

There are some pros and cons to the machine. The cons are that when you first use it you may find it squeaky and need to use some WD-40. All the bolts need to be tight otherwise it feels pretty wobbly. Compared to other ellipticals the foot pedals seem further apart which takes getting used. The heart rate monitor and the rest of the computer components do not seem to work that well, at least they do not on mine.

The pros are that the workout is smooth, there is no impact so my back and joints are pain free. It has 12 levels of resistance so you can have some challenging workouts. Using the Elliptical 1100 for 30 minutes twice a day for three months I lost 17 pounds. Now I use it to keep that weight off three times a week to stay in shape.
